Sometimes the human experience can be very painful. Living with interpersonal issues, depression, anxiety, the effects of trauma, or the ongoing issues caused by neurodivergent traits like ADHD or compulsions – can make us feel like “less” – less happy, less capable, less focused, less able to be there for our loved ones.

But things can be better!

It is possible to experience hope, joy, peace, and confidence!

My passion is to help you uncover the strengths and skills that you can use to address the issues causing disruption in your life. I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor who uses trauma- informed, Cognitive Behavioural and other evidence-based approaches. I work with both adults and teens to help you learn new ways of coping, communicating, and creating the life you want.

It takes a great deal of strength to seek out counselling because it can be hard to be vulnerable and reveal problems to another person. My goal in working with you is to provide a safe and welcoming environment in which we collaborate on moving you toward your goals. I approach each client session with an open mind, an attitude of curiosity, and a compassionate heart.!

It is important to me that I provide a calm, grounded space for every client. Coming to therapy can be daunting sometimes, and I hope to make the experience as comfortable as possible by focusing on collaboration. I like to describe my view of therapy as similar to building a house for yourself. I will help you to build it by looking into my tool box and providing you with tools that you can try out. I will show you tools that  I think will strengthen your house, make it a safe space, and help it weather future storms.

Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) Candidate, Yorkville University I believe every person has the capacity for growth, healing, and change. As a practicum counsellor at Purpose Psychology, I am honoured to walk alongside clients as they rediscover their strengths and create meaningful change in their lives. With many years of experience in social services, I have supported individuals and families navigating challenges such as homelessness, mental health issues, substance use, and developmental disabilities. These experiences have shaped my belief that even small steps forward are worth celebrating, and that genuine connection can help people move towards hope and balance.

My counselling approach is warm and collaborative. I use a biopsychosocial and culturally responsive and socially just lens to understand each client as a whole person—mind, body, and spirit—within their social and cultural contexts. My counselling approach draws from several therapeutic modalities, including Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I integrate these models to meet each client’s unique needs. I offer support in areas such as:  Substance use support  Anxiety and Depression  Relationship and family concerns  Grief and trauma  Men’s issues  Workplace stress and burnout  Self-esteem and coping skills

I work with youth, adolescents, adults, and families from all walks of life. I offer counselling services on a sliding scale to my clients.

Originally from Jamaica, I bring a rich cultural perspective and a deep respect for diversity to my practice.

If you are ready to take the next step in your journey, I would be honoured to support you in moving toward greater well-being and purpose.
